Vintage old original Mid Century Painting. Oil painting is signed by J Ros and believed from the xxxx?s.Painting is a still life and depicts a fruit scene laid out on a table. The basket holds bunches of blue and green grapes with red fruit on top. A half cut melon rests in front of basket. More bunches of grapes lay in front of basket. Three golden apples sit out front on the table. A green grape vine intertwines itself around back of basket and string of garlic. Painting is on canvas and artist signature of J. Ros is on bottom left hand corner.
Canvas size is ?..W 39 1/4 inches or 100cm and ?..H 29 ¾ inches or 73 cm Frame is probably original and brushed black and gold in color. Upon close inspection it can be noticed that the bottom right and left hand corner has been repaired. The painting is being sold strictly as a canvas work of art. Plaster frame is included as a bonus and reflects the price. Measurement including frame is?.W45 inches or 115 cm by ?..H 35 inches or 89cm. This painting belonged to my maternal grandmother and has been stored in closet for the last 20 years. We live in Arizona and the painting does not suit our south western style. The painting is in excellent condition and has not been subjected to smoke, heat or light. Research on rare paintings of this quality and size done by J. Ros have sold between $500.00 and $800.00 depending on size and condition.
